At 6:45 PM, the second round, serving as the GCL final and Grand Prix qualifier, got underway! Lucky in round 1, a little less so in the second, as neither team managed a double clear. With the start in reverse order of the standings, the Shanghai Swans needed a clear round to secure the win. Christian Ahlmann and Max Kühner both opted to change mounts for this second round, riding Dourkhan Hero Z and EIC Up Too Jacco Blue respectively. They ultimately left the arena with 12 faults, thus ceding their position to the Istanbul Warriors, ridden by Belgian Abdel Saïd (Quaker Brimbelle Z and Bonne Amie), Swede Henrik von Eckermann (Minute Man), and Briton Oliver Fletcher (Hello William). Finishing with 8 points in total, they therefore prevailed on Parisian soil, ahead of Valkenswaard United (2nd) composed of the German maestro Marcus Ehning (DPS Revers and Priam du Roset) and the Belgian Gilles Thomas (Ermitage Kalone and Qiara de Kalvarie) and the Prague Lions (3rd) with the Belgian duo Niels Bruynseels (Origi VD Vosberg and Q-Sander van de Vosberg) and Pieter Devos (Primo DV and Lente).

Reaction from the Istanbul Warriors: "We are really very happy. Honestly, we thought we would finish 2nd or 3rd seeing how the competition was progressing and Christian (Ahlmann)'s flawless performance. When Max (Kühner) made his first mistake, we started to believe and... we know the rest. Winning here is magnificent, the scenery is splendid, we are almost watching it with the eyes of children."

In the individual rankings, pole position goes to the Dane Zascha Nygaard Lill and

Primavera. Mexican Carlos Hank Guerreiro is 2nd with H5 Nostalgie, ahead of Frenchman Cédric Hurel and Fantasio Floreval Z, the best French performance of the evening.

CSI1*

The opening event of this 11th edition, the CSI1* presented by the City of Paris, saw French rider Héléna Bukwald and Dikenesch Dorchival take the 1.15m class. China's Jiayi Hang won the CSI1* presented by Château Bacon (1.25m), riding Sonnenschein. The CSI1* presented by Jappeloup (1.35m) was won by Emirati Ali Hussain Alnowais and Narcos vd Smidshoeve.

After the competition, the day ended in the best possible way with a performance by equestrian artist Santi Serra.

Tomorrow, Saturday, June 21, the meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. for the launch of the 2nd day, which will conclude with the highly anticipated Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix de la Ville de Paris.
